This was a great lecture and I benefited a lot from how you explained what istikhara is not. I’m a bit confused on one thing though. You had mentioned that after making istikhara you will feel better towards one option than another or you will feel confused and that means that option shouldn’t be taken. Then after in the lecture it is mentioned that the istikhara should be made over and over again till the decision is made. Please elaborate on this.

Assalamualaikum

Jazakallah for the lessons in the khutbah. I really wish we had such practical khutbahs here. Another thing. In many dua’as we’ve attended, the dua’as were all very eloquent, used amazing words and had marvelous sentences. Made me feel (for the longest time) that this was the only way to talk to Allah.

Parents should be responsible enough to impart this lesson in young kids. Jazakallah again.

I think it’s important to at the very least take the initiative to say ‘i’ll do it after salah’ and not during the khutbah. it won’t ruin it cause the majority of the congregation tunes ou or starts to get up after salah. And dont think anything of it, as your khutbah is your duty and the announcements are really theirs.

What Jamaal said was also a good idea.

I think the best way is to make your presence felt and either say ‘ill do it after salah’.
